Data Scientist

Strikerz Inc. is a videogame-creating collective and an international gaming brand launched in 2016 by a handful of people involved with online football. Currently, there are 300+ of us spread over 5 regional offices in various locations across Europe or working from home (yes, we love it too). Strikerz Inc. is the force behind the UFL, the ongoing online football videogame revolution. Being fans, we aim at offering our players an unprecedented gaming experience available on all major platforms.

For which tasks (responsibilities)?

We are seeking a Data Scientist to apply advanced machine learning techniques and predictive modeling to optimize user engagement, retention, and gameplay in UFL. You will develop models to segment the user base, predict user behavior, and support game designers and developers with insights that shape in-game features and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Build predictive models to forecast user behavior such as churn, retention, and in-game purchases;

• Develop and apply segmentation models to group users based on gameplay data, identifying key patterns and user types;

• Create machine learning models to optimize in-game systems, user progression, and the overall user experience;

• Collaborate with developers and game designers to incorporate data-driven insights into game mechanics, meta-game features, and economy design;

• Conduct experiments (e.g., A/B testing) to evaluate model performance and improve existing features;

• Ensure data integrity and prepare datasets tailored to specific modeling requirements;

• Document, present, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What kind of professional are we looking for?

• 5+ years of experience in data science or a related field;

• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets;

• Strong knowledge of Python and relevant libraries: Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib;

• Expertise in machine learning techniques (e.g., classification, clustering, regression) and statistical modeling;

• Experience building predictive models and applying advanced segmentation techniques;

• Strong understanding of A/B testing and experimental design;

• Strong communication skills to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience working with ClickHouse;

• Familiarity with meta-game systems, in-game economies, and user progression;

• Experience working with sports analytics or game data;

• Experience with data visualization tools, particularly Tableau.
